The AfternicDLS,
NoktaDomains
and Moniker/SnapNames
all joined Sedo as venues that had multiple chart entries. The
Afternic DLS had two top ten hits; #4 TheFit.com at $30,900
and #7 QIS.com at $27,000. NoktaDomains scored
with #6 SendMoney.co.uk at $29,500 and #16 EkonomikBilet.com
at $16,000. Moniker/SnapNames hit the Daily Double with a
pair of .orgs that tied for the 14th spot; AutoInsuranceComparison.org
and CarInsuranceCompanies.org at $18,229 each
(both went to the same buyer).
Four others also earned chart honors. Boxcar.com/DomainConsultant.com
sold #10 (tie) DomainWealth.com for $21,000, IDNClub.com
facilitated a $20,000 deal between two their members for #12
(tie) 543.com, Gavin Durni bought #17 (tie) Education.co.za
(South African ccTLD) for $15,000 in a private transaction
and NetFleet.com.au
sold #17 (tie) Jobs.net.au (Australian ccTLD) for $15,000.
A couple of other notable sales were #12 Love.ly at $20,000
and #17 (tie) About, biz at $15,000, both handled by
Sedo. .ly is the country code for Libya
and given the fact that a civil war is currently underway there,
$20,000 is a sizeable bet on a ccTLD currently being operated by an
unstable government. No such worries for .biz of course, but
what is notable about the About.biz sale is the fact that is the
third largest .biz sale of the year to date.
Here's how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the
week ending Sunday, May 29:

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
|
For
the many newcomers entering the domain
industry we also want to point out that the reasons why a domain name sells for a certain price can be varied and are not always clear to those who are unfamiliar with the domain market.
If you do not understand why specific domain names command the
prices they do, you are likely to make unwise domain registrations or purchases.
We highly recommend that you do some basic research before
you buy anything! As a starting point we have
built a sister site specifically for you at NameNewbie.com.

in the all extension section above. The highest sales you haven't
yet seen in this category are LookBook.fr (French ccTLD) and
Zynga.es (Spain's country code) at $8,640 each via Sedo,
a venue that piled up 11 of the 20 chart entries. Those two domains
rounded out the top half of our new Country Code Top 20 Sales
Chart.
BliXemInternet
kicked off the second half of the elite list with a Dutch domain,
#12 IAD.nl at $8,208. They placed another one, Zilverprijs.nl

Non .com gTLDs (.biz, .info, .mobi, .net, .org, .asia, .pro & .tel)
The non .com gTLDs had their best outing of
the year by far, piling up 14 five-figure sales. This
category rarely has more than a couple of sales a week at that
level. They've been on a roll the past two weeks though, with six
breaking the five-figure barrier the
previous week and now more than a dozen turning the trick this
week.
We listed all of the five-figure sales in the all
extension section at the top of this report, so the highest sale you
haven't yet seen from this category is #15 on our new Non .Com gTLD Top 20
Chart - that is MSys.net at $9,388 through the
AfternicDLS. Five more .nets rounded out the elite list led
by #16 FijiAirlines.net at $8,800.
The .nets took 10 of the 20 chart entries overall,
followed by .org with 8. That left one spot each for .biz (#4
About.biz at $15,000) and .info (#13 Amor.info
at $11,250). Here's how all of the Non .Com gTLD leaders stacked up for the
week ending May 29:

As always, we welcome all verifiable sales reports from companies,
private sellers or individuals with knowledge of an important sale
made through any channel. To contribute information and help make
this column better, just drop a note to [email protected].
We truly appreciate the industry leading
companies who share their sales information
with us to help everyone in the business get a handle on current
domain values. Richard
Meyer of Domain Sales Center also provides invaluable help
in collecting data for these sales
reports each week.
Every Wednesday we publish the highest reported domain name
sales for the previous week. On Mondays and Tuesdays our contributors send us
their sales data for the previous 7 days. We then compile that
information and write this article to give
you the most comprehensive sales report in the industry.

Sales columns, they are available in our Archive.
