Sedo also accounted for all four of the ccTLD sales that
earned places on the Big Board. The country code contingent was led
by # 7 Market.de at $42,600, a deal that ranks as the
fourth biggest ccTLD sale reported so far this year. The country
codes also got a boost from #12 Cocinas.es ($24,140), #14 Creative.co.uk
($20,930) and #16 Pari.fr ($19,170).
The non .com gTLDs have just one
representative on the chart (again thanks to Sedo). That is #17 Gadgets.net
at $16,330.
Joining Sedo and Boxcar/DomainConsultant
among the venues with multiple chart entries was the AfternicDLS
who rang up four of the Top 20 sales. #8 CeramicTiles.com at $40,000
and #10 BollywoodLife.com at $34,100 led the
AfternicDLS charge.
Michael Berkens's sales site, MostWantedDomains,
also earned chart honors this week with #11 Transferred.com
at $25,000.

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
|
For
the many newcomers entering the domain
industry we also want to point out that the reasons why a domain name sells for a certain price can be varied and are not always clear to those who are unfamiliar with the domain market.
If you do not understand why specific domain names command the
prices they do, you are likely to make unwise domain registrations or purchases.
We highly recommend that you do some basic research before
you buy anything! As a starting point we have
built a sister site specifically for you at NameNewbie.com.

Country Codes
The country codes had another excellent
outing with eight five-figure sales led by Market.de (German
ccTLD) at $42,600 via Sedo. All of those five-figure deals
were listed in the all extension section above so the highest country
code sale you haven't seen yet is the #9 domain on our new Country
Code Top 20 Chart - Cheat-Lexicon.de at $7,100,
also through Sedo. Their sale of Haushaltsroboter24.de for
$6,035 rounded out the top ten and helped Sedo sweep 17 of the
20 chart entries.
Gavin Durni's $5,000 purchase of #16 Learning.co.za
(South African country code) and BliXem
Internet's $4,580 sale of #18 Innova.eu were
among the few that kept Sedo from running the table.
As is often the case, Germany's .de led the
race among extensions by taking five places on the leader board. The
European Union's .eu was next with three while France's .fr
and Spain's .es each had two.

Non .com gTLDs (.biz, .info, .mobi, .net, .org, .asia, .pro & .tel)
It was slow going for the non .Com
gTLDs again this week with just one sale in this category
reaching the five-figure mark. That was Gadgets.net at $16,330
via Sedo. The runner-up spot on our new Non .Com gTLD Top 20
Chart went to Hemp.info at $8,520. Sedo also made
that sale en route to piling up 14 of the 20 chart entries,
including 7 of the top 10. Sedo's haul included #3 Sardinien.net
at $8,236 and #4 FBK.net at $5,555.
Boxcar/DomainConsultant and the AfternicDLS finally
broke up the Sedo party at the top of the chart when each claimed a
share of the #5 spot with a $5,000 sale. Boxcar.DC did it
with Ocean.net while the AfternicDLS scored with VDA.net.
The .nets led the extension race by taking
11 places on the elite list. .Org followed with 6. That left
two spots for .info and one for .biz. Here's how all of the Non .Com gTLD leaders stacked up for the

As always, we welcome all verifiable sales reports from companies,
private sellers or individuals with knowledge of an important sale
made through any channel. To contribute information and help make
this column better, just drop a note to [email protected].
We truly appreciate the industry leading
companies who share their sales information
with us to help everyone in the business get a handle on current
domain values. Richard
Meyer of Domain Sales Center also provides invaluable help
in collecting data for these sales
reports each week.
Every Wednesday we publish the highest reported domain name
sales for the previous week. On Mondays and Tuesdays our contributors send us
their sales data for the previous 7 days. We then compile that
information and write this article to give
you the most comprehensive sales report in the industry.
Editor's Note: If you wish to review previous Domain
Sales columns, they are available in our Archive.
