The AfternicDLS
also had another solid outing with a pair of top ten sales and three
charted domains overall. #5 Ringer.com ($40,500) and #7 VideosOnline.com
($18,000) led the charge there.
GoDaddyAuctions
had multiple chart entries as well, hitting the daily double with #11 GWS.org
at $14,800 and #20 (tie) TheLionGroup.com at $10,000.
GWS.org was one of three non .com gTLDs on the elite list.
The other two, Directory.net and WorldwideWarning.net,
were part of that five-name logjam at #20 where each domain hit the $10,000
mark.
The ccTLDs did even better with
five of them elbowing their way onto the Big Board. Sedo handled
all five of those country code stars with a line up spearheaded by
#6 Inar.de at €12,500 ($18,125). Two others; Geschenke24.de
and Tequila.co tied at #14 at $14,500 each. Sedo sold
Tequila.co for Michael
Mann's sales platform, DomainMarket.com.
This kind of cross listing among venues has become very popular with
the various aftermarket companies working together to get their
listings in front of as many potential buyers as possible.
Here's how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the
week ending Sunday, April 17:

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
|
For
the many newcomers entering the domain
industry we also want to point out that the reasons why a domain name sells for a certain price can be varied and are not always clear to those who are unfamiliar with the domain market.
If you do not understand why specific domain names command the
prices they do, you are likely to make unwise domain registrations or purchases.
We highly recommend that you do some basic research before
you buy anything! As a starting point we have
built a sister site specifically for you at NameNewbie.com.

Country Codes
The ccTLD charge was led by five five-figure
sales this week. You saw all of those in the all extension section
above so the highest country code sale you haven't seen yet is #6 on
our new ccTLD Top 20 Chart. That is Mozy.no (a
Norwegian country code domain) sold by Sedo for $8,700.
Sedo went on to sweep 20 of the 22 chart entries
(the extra spots resulted from a three-way tie for the final
position). Their roster included #7 Joueur.fr (French ccTLD)
at $7,395 and #8 Rock.in (Indian country code) at $7,380.
Drop.com.au
and the AfternicDLS prevented Sedo from running the table.
Drop.com.au claimed the #9 spot with Auto.com.au (Australian
ccTLD) and the AfternicDLS nailed down #16 (tie) with Diet.md
(Moldavian ccTLD) at $5,000.
America's country code, .US, took two places
on the second half of the elite list; #13 Gay.us ($5,400) and
#16 (tie) DaySpa.us ($5,000).

Non .com gTLDs (.biz, .info, .mobi, .net, .org, .asia, .pro & .tel)
A trio of five-figure sales led the non .Com gTLDs
this week. You saw those three names on the all extension chart at
the top of this report. The highest sales you haven't yet seen in
this category are a pair that tied for #4 on our new Non .Com
gTLD Top 20 Chart. Those were BusinessLeads.net and YouBuild.net,
each of which sold for $5,000. Sedo handled the
BusinessLeads.net sale while the AfternicDLS gets credit for
YouBuild.net.
Sedo rang up 10 of the 20 charted sales and the
AfternicDLS also had an excellent outing with a hand in nine
transactions that made the elite list, including #8 (tie) SportsNutrition.net
at $4,000.
In the race among extensions, the .nets
captured a dozen chart entries, followed by the .orgs with
seven.
The lone remaining opening went to #6 (tie) KFZ-Versicherungen.info
at $4,495.

As always, we welcome all verifiable sales reports from companies,
private sellers or individuals with knowledge of an important sale
made through any channel. To contribute information and help make
this column better, just drop a note to [email protected].
We truly appreciate the industry leading
companies who share their sales information
with us to help everyone in the business get a handle on current
domain values. Richard
Meyer of Domain Sales Center also provides invaluable help
in collecting data for these sales
reports each week.
Every Wednesday we publish the highest reported domain name
sales for the previous week. On Mondays and Tuesdays our contributors send us
their sales data for the previous 7 days. We then compile that
information and write this article to give
you the most comprehensive sales report in the industry.

Sales columns, they are available in our Archive.
