List
of Highest Verified Sales Made Before 2004
Special Entry: On November 1, 2012 Marchex, a
public company with a portfolio of hundreds of thousands of domains,
for the first time released a list of the company's Top 500 sales
over the preceding four years. Marchex did not release the dates on
which these sales were made, so we cannot assign them to any of the
specific annual Top 100 charts linked to below. So instead we
are including a link to the complete list of the Marchex sales
(ranging from just under $10,000 to $700,000) here for your
reference. The release of this information is a valuable addition to
the body of sales information we have compiled over the past decade
- all of which is meant to serve as an educational tool that
gives our readers information on what price tens of thousands of
specific domains have sold since we started tracking the aftermarket
in 2003. We believe that the majority of domain sales are never
publicly reported, but this data on those that were revealed can be
very helpful in understanding domain values and sales trends over a
long period of time.
A
list of the top 500 Marchex domain sales (between 2008-2012)
that was released by the company on November 1, 2012 (this is a .pdf
file).
Editor's Note: In July 2016 Uniregistry.com
sent us a list of thousands of previously unreported sales, totaling
approximately $42 million that they made between February
2015 and June 2016. We added all of the 2016 sales from that list to
our weekly reports in July 2016. Since the 2015 sales were from a
previous year (and all of our weekly sales reports for that year had
been completed), we added the top Uniregistry sales that qualified
for our 2015
Top 100 Reported Sales chart (22 domains added, all in
six figures. Those are shown on the chart with the date 12/31/15 as
they came in after the last day of the year).
We placed all of the other 2015 sales they reported to us (along
with the ones that were added to the 2015 YTD Top 100) in this special
Excel document (2,466 domains in all, ranging in price
from $575,000 down to $1,000, which is the minimum number we track).
These sales were not included in our 2015 weekly reports but we
wanted to get them on the record because the list includes many
significant sales and also provides a clearer picture of the
strength of the aftermarket in that year.
Additional Charts (from
our discontinued New TLD categories. In 2006, .biz and .info moved
to a new Non .com gTLDs chart and .us moved to a new Country
Codes chart):
2005: Every
.biz, .info & .us sale of $1,000 or more
2004: Every .biz,
.info & .us sale of $1,000 or more
