The calendar says
its winter but the domain aftermarket is producing
enough heat to make it
feel like the middle of summer. As we reported Tuesday (Feb.
18), the year's first publicly reported 7-figure sale - Commerce.com
at $2.2 million has just been put on the board by Larry
Fischer (GetYourDomain.com)
and Ari Goldberger (ESQwire.com).
This is actually the second time the pioneering duo has
been involved in a sale of this premier domain. Representing Anything.com,
they purchased it for $180,000 back in 2004. This time
they handled the sale of the prime asset for more than $2
million above the original acquisition price.
|

|
Dropcatch.com
completed a powerful 1-2 punch at the top of our latest
all extension Top 20 Sales Chart with the $802,500
sale of Spend.com in an auction that ended on their
popular site at the end of January. The 6-figure bell also
rang for yet another great .ai domain in #3 Weather.ai
at $150,000 with Lumis.com
and Atom.com
working together to get that one done. SAV.com
joined the party too with the biggest auction sale to date on
their platform - a spirited battle that produced a $100,000
sale of TRC.com.
Over
the past couple of years we've seen ccTLDs (especially
with the .ai explosion) and non .com gTLDs give
the .coms some competition on our charts. Still, the
world's most dominant extension frequently reminds everyone
who is boss with an outing like they had over the past two
weeks. Their latest flex gave them 8 of the top 10 sales
on latest leader board and 14 of 20 overall. You can credit
some of that muscle to Sedo's
Mark "Mr. Premium" Ghoriafi, who sold #5 Weights.com
for $85,000 (Mark also helped pump up the non .com
gTLDs by selling Weights.net for $7,500 to a
different buyer).
|
The non .com gTLDs
threw their weight around on the Big Board too, with Swetha
Yenugula giving them their biggest boost with a $70,000
sale of #6 Bitssxyz through Afternic.
Afternic also worked with Top.Domains
to produce two more chart entries - #13 Home.bet at $19,888
and #15 Kim.bet at $18,888.
The
ccTLDs weren't sitting on their hands either. In addition to
that big Weather.ai sale, they put four more representatives
on the honor roll. Sedo accounted for three of those while WeBroker.vc
added the other with #20 Premise.vc at $15,000.
One
other note - our 2025
Year-to-Date Top Sales Charts are up and already
expanding thanks to the surge of solid sales that have
gotten the new year off to a great start. Even though we are
only six weeks into the 2025 sales season, every one of the
YTD chart's Top 10 is at least six figures.

Country
Codes
These are certainly sunny
days for the red hot .ai extension. Fueled by the
artificial intelligence boom, the ccTLD has been ringing up so many
solid aftermarket sales it can make your head spin. The latest one
to hit #1 on our bi-weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart is
the $150,000 sale of Weather.ai that you saw on our
all extension leader board above.
On many weeks .ai
completely dominates this chart but there is much more diversity
this week with 13 different TLDs represented on the leader
board. Germany's .de, which had traditionally been the most
dominant TLD until the .ai explosion, was back on top this time
around the track with five chart entries, including the 2nd and 3rd
highest sales. Those were- My.de at $26,000 and Elektro.de
at $15,600 - both through Sedo. The only other TLDs
with multiple sales were .co.uk with three (led by DomainLore.uk's
$ $14,175 sale of Zip.co.uk) and .io with two.
Here is how the all of
the top ccTLDs stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025:
