Four More 6-Figure Sales (This Time All .Coms) Top This Week's Chart,  Including One of the New Year's Five Biggest Sales

After producing a half dozen six-figure sales the previous week, the domain aftermarket continued to cruise at high altitude this week with four more in that stratosphere, including one of 2014's five biggest sales. You may recall that five of the six blockbusters from the last time out were Chinese ccTLDs. However, this time around the track the big boys were all .coms.

None was bigger that the $320,000 sale of Malls.com at Sedo, where the domain was listed by Michael Berkens's MostWantedDomains.com. In addition to topping this week's all extension Top 20 Sales Chart, that sale ranks #5 on our Year To Date Top Sellers list

This week's runner up was another very impressive sale in which veteran domain investor Niko Younts moved BitcoinWallet.com for $250,000. If you haven't been keeping up with the bitcoin craze, this one may puzzle you, but if you take even a cursory look at the alternate currency's ecosystem, you will see how important the wallet term is in the bitcoin world (Niko was also able to provide the required proof of sale documentation that I vetted through other sources as well).

Next in our six-shooters line up is DL.com at $210,689. That domain was auctioned off by Hilco Streambank in October, but they just confirmed that the domain has been fully paid for and transferred to the new owner (a requirement before we can chart a name).

Rounding out our six-figure quartet is CornerstoneHomes.com, a domain that Sedo sold for $150,000. Sedo went on to claim eight places overall on the Big Board to lead all venues.

While the .coms dominated the extension race, as they usually do, the ccTLDS and the non .com gTLDs were each able to claim three spots on the elite list. BuyDomainNames.co.uk had the biggest country code sale, banking $33,198 for Stripe.co.uk (a domain that was purchased by the owners of Stripe.com). NoktaDomains and Sedo rang up the other charted ccTLD sales.

Go Daddy/Afternic posted the top non .com gTLD sale with #7 Radiant.org going for $23,000 there. They also sold #11 Trees.org for $18,500. Sedo gave the .orgs a clean sweep in this category by putting NXT.org in the #19 (tie) slot with a $13,600 sale.

Another venue earning chart honors this week was Flippa.com who booked the $20,000 sale of #9 Elevated.com.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 9:

Keep in mind that these are the highest value cash only sales that have been reported to us in the past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both.
