Sedo & Go Daddy Auctions Team Up to Produce Six-Figure Sale That Tops This Week's Domain Sales Chart

Aftermarket powerhouses Sedo and Go Daddy Auctions joined forces to sell OPS.com for $100,000 to take the top spot on our all extension Top 20 Sales Chart this week. Sedo's Dave Evanson co-brokered the deal for the seller, domain pioneer Garry Chernoff, with the name going to a buyer in Japan. Sedo has several other nice sales in the pipeline (including another one at six figures) that they are expected to be released on their next weekly completed sales list.

Several venues did not report this week, leaving the door open for Sedo to pile up 15 of the 20 chart entries including #2 Mail.co.uk, one of the year's ten biggest ccTLD sales at $39,235.

Afternic claimed the remaining five openings on the elite list with a roster led by #3 Fab.net at $39,000. That was one of the five biggest non .com gTLD sales reported so far this year. Sedo also had a big sale in this category with #5 Kittens.org at $27,500. That ranks among 2013's top ten non .com gTLD transactions.

By Ron Jackson

As usual, the .coms won the extension race, booking 13 of the 20 sales on the elite list including Sedo's $30,000 sale of #4 GrowersEdge.com

The ccTLDs followed with five chart entries, three of which reached the top ten as #7 Battery.co at $18,000 and #8 Rechtschreibung.de ("spelling" in German) at $16,625 joined Mail.co.uk on the top half of the Big Board. Sedo rang up all five of the charted country code sales.

The non .com gTLDs staked out three places on the leader board with Sedo's $10,000 sale of #14 (tie) GreenTea.net joining the two previously mentioned entries from this category.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, August 25:
