That was one of three country code domains
that qualified for the elite list. Sedo had the other two - #12 MoneyCard.co.uk
at $16,001 and #18 Vimla.se at $13,000 - and
they went on to rack up six chart entries overall.
The non .com gTLDs were limited to
one chart entry - NameJet's $14,000 sale of #17 DWI.org.
The .coms swept the rest of the board, ringing up 18 of the 22
charted sales.
While no six-figure (or larger) cash sales
were reported this week, George Kirikos uncovered two big domain transactions while going through SEC filings. In
one of those from May
2013, he learned that when Move Inc. acquired the
business assets of Doorsteps.com for $2.3 million they
assigned $1 million of that price to the value of the
domain.
In another filing from June
2013 George discovered that public company Snap
Interactive had acquired the domain name AYI.com for $100,000
in stock to use as an abbreviation for their AreYouInterested.com
domain.
While we don't consider domains that have
been acquired as part of a business, or those purchased with stock
or other non-cash instruments, as pure domain sales that we can
chart, the valuations provide additional insight into how some
corporations value specific domain names. Thanks to George for
bringing these to our attention.
Now, here is how all of the
sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, August 11:

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value cash only sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.

Country Codes
The ccTLDs had another very solid
week led by the seven five-figure sales you saw in the
all-extension section above. The biggest sale from this
category that you haven't seen yet is #8 on our
latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. That is Benchmark.co.uk,
a domain that changed hands through Sedo for $8,525.
Rounding out the top ten are #9 Wetter.lu
at $7,980 and #10 MyJar.co.uk at $7,294.
Sedo also handled those two sales as they swept 19 of the 20
chart entries - the only exception being the #1 domain - Lakrits.se
- sold by MissDomain.com for $19,341.
Germany's .de led the extension race with
five chart entries followed by Great Britain's .uk with
four. The only other TLDs with multiple chart entries were
Sweden's .se, Montenegro's .me and the European
Union's .eu with two each.
