$380,000 Deal Tops This Week's Domain Sales Chart as High End of Market Continues Its Resurgence

Just one week after we reported the year's biggest domain sale (114.com at $2.1 million) another major sale was reported this week with Body.com changing hands for $380,000 in a deal jointly handled by Sedo.com and GoDaddyAuctions. This is the 3rd highest sale reported thus far in 2013 and all of the year's three biggest sales have been reported this month as the high end of the market has staged a welcome resurgence.

This is the second time that Body.com has changed hands for big bucks in the past four years. We reported the previous transaction in March 2009 when the name was sold for $400,000 through Sedo.

The next two spots on this week's all extension Top 20 Sales Chart went to DomainNameSales.com who moved #2 IDTech.com for $75,000 and #3 GoHunt.com for $31,000.  Sedo rounded out the first five with #4 StartNext.com ($25,000) and #5 WWR.com ($23,100).

By Ron Jackson

The .coms had a dominating week, sweeping 18 of the 20 chart entries. The ccTLDs and non .com gTLDs were limited to one spot apiece with Sedo making both of those non .com sales, getting $13,200 for the French domain at #15, MonVillage.fr, and $12,500 for Kizi.org.

Sedo had a hand in nine charted sales and DomainNameSales got credit for eight, including one they shared with DomainHoldings.com - #9 Pirc.com at $19,000Afternic also claimed multiple chart entries, ringing the bell three times with a trio led by #12 (tie) Baseball24.com at $15,000.

The Flip of the Week Award goes to #19 (tie) RootCanals.com, a name that DomainNameSales sold for $12,000. The domain had been picked up in February for just $2,100 at NameJet.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, July 14:
