Trio of Six-Figure Sales Including the Year's Biggest ccTLD Deal Fueled Another Strong Week for the Domain Aftermarket

Summer is still a fee weeks away but things are already heating up in the domain aftermarket. The past week was highlighted by three  six-figure sales, with one of those ranking among the five biggest sales we've seen so far this year. Another member of that power trio is the biggest ccTLD sale reported thus far in 2013. We also saw one of the year's three biggest non .com gTLD sales, further evidence that the market was firing on all cylinders.

Setting the pace was Sedo's $252,000 sale of Moms.com. They also took the runner up spot with Fotograf.de at $117,810. That is the biggest country code sale so far this year and is also 2013's first six-figure ccTLD sale

The week's third six-figure sales went to DomainAgents.com who brokered the $100,000 sale of Radius.com to a data services company that has been operating at RadiusIntel.com.

By Ron Jackson

Sedo swept the next four entries on our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart en route to piling up 11 of the 20 positions overall. Their roster included #4 Evora.com at $94,000 and #5 Juxin.com at $66,666, as well as two more big country code sales, #6 Kurzreise.de ("short trip" in German) at $43,982 and #7 Domains.in at $40,000.

The non .com gTLDs got into the game with #8 Haberler.net notching $35,400 at NoktaDomains. That is the only representative that category has on the Big Board. The ccTLDs fared much better with six charted domains, Sedo accounting for all of those except #13 (tie) Textbooks.ca, a name that  Emall.ca sold through DomainHoldings.com for $18,000.

The always dominant .coms claimed the remaining 13 openings including the two that rounded out the top ten - Afternic's $28,000 sale of #9 GotHealth.com and NoktaDomains's $25,000 sale of Orby.com. NoktaDomains wound up with four chart entries overall and Afternic rang up three.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, May 5:
