Pair of One-Word .Com Sales Total $375,000 to Top 2017's First Domain Sales Chart

And they're off! The 2017 domain sales season is officially underway and we have the new year's first two weeks worth of sales for you this time out. We're off to a good start with a pair of solid one-word .com sales setting the pace on our all extension Top 20 Sales Chart. The top rung on the ladder went to Framer.com, a domain that Undeveloped.com sold for $250,000 to a startup company that sells software design tools.

Domain industry veteran Larry Fischer took the next slot after banking $125,000 for a gem of a name - Emeralds.com - via his GetYourDomain.com platform. Larry has been involved in an  extraordinary number of high dollar sales over the years but it's not often that he makes them public, primarily because transactions involving the kind of top tier names he specializes in are usually subject to NDAs.

It was a long way down to #3 but not surprising to see a 3-letter .com in that spot where GUD.com took up residence after a $32,000 sale handled by Tuoky.com. The demand for those LLL .coms never seems to go out of style.

By Ron Jackson

The week's biggest ccTLD sale is #4 with Nidoma.com booking the $27,567 sale of Aiuto.it ("help" in Italian). It was a great week overall for the country codes as they went on to pile up eight entries on the Big Board including four more in the top ten. Undeveloped.com sold #7 Venetie.nl for $19,500, Nidoma moved Bonos.es and Musei.it for $15,900 each and Sedo sold Seguridad.cl for the same price. The latter three tied Sedo's sale of BonApp.com for the #9 position.

In another nice ccTLD sale Synergy.media sold #15 Knights.tv to the National Hockey League for $12,500. As NHL fans know the league just granted a new franchise to Las Vegas where the team has been named the Golden Knights

With the .coms sweeping 11 of the 12 remaining entries that left just one spot for the non .com gTLDs  and that went to a new gTLD with #16 Best.creditcard banking $10,900 at Sedo.

Since this is the first chart of the new year, the chart below is also the Year-to-Date Top Sales Chart. Next time out, when we will have another set of sales to blend in, we will start a separate 2017 YTD Top Sales Chart on our Year to Date Sales Charts page. Until then you will see the final Top 100 Charts for 2016 on that page. Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, January 15, 2017

Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both. Country Codes

As I noted at the top of this report the ccTLDs got off to a fast start in 2017 piling up 8 five-figure sales - all of which ranked on the all extension Top 20 Sales Chart you saw earlier. Nidoma's sale of Aiuto.it at $27,562 led that charge. The highest sales in this category that you haven't seen yet are a pair of sales from Sedo that tied for #9 on our Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. Allekabler.dk and matching Danish domain Alle-Kabler.dk drew $8,480 each.

Italy's .it won the extension race with four chart entries. Three other TLDs - Germany's .de, France's .fr and Denmark's .dk followed with two each. In a very diverse week ten more TLDs earned places on the leader board.

Here is how the country code leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, January 15, 2017:
