One of the Year's 3 Biggest ccTLD Sales Takes Top Spot on This Week's Domain Sales Chart

We're used to seeing short .com domains at the top of our weekly sales charts but this week was different. The ccTTLDs scored an easy win with GritBrokerage's $89,000 sale of Leaf.co. That's the 3rd highest country course sale reported so far this year, trailing only two .co.uk domains - Furniture.co.uk (sold for $650,000 in August) and Purple.co.uk (sold for $155,520 in June). Leaf.co has been under WhoIs privacy since it was transferred and no site is resolving there yet, so the buyer, at least for now, is unknown.

While a ccTLD leads our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart that doesn't mean short .com sales were lacking - quite the  contrary. The next four spots on the leader board were all taken by 3-letter .coms sold by James Booth's BQDN.com. THB.com and WBG.com tied for 2nd at $44,000 each while LXB.com brought $41,500 and SWD.com drew $40,000. All told 12 of the 20 chart entries were four letters or less with 8 of those 12 being .coms.

The .coms took 16 of 20 places overall with the ccTLDs and non .com gTLDs claiming two spots apiece. The non .com gTLDs scored with Flippa's $16,500 sale of Loan.info and Sedo's $5,655 sale of #18 CO.club.

By Ron Jackson

Flippa also contributed three sales to the .com surge including #12 (tie) Hexo.com at $10,000. However, Sedo had the lead role, piling up 11 entries overall, including 9 of the .coms - three of which landed on the the top half of the elite list including #6 MyMed.com at $25,000.

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org, .biz, .info & others, including new gTLDs)

The non .com gTLDs were led by the lone five-figure sale reported in that category, Loan.info at $16,500 via Flippa. You also saw CO.club ($5,655) on the all-extension leader board above. The highest sale in this group  that you haven't seen yet is #3 on our latest weekly Non .Com gTLD Top 20 Sales Chart. That is NameCheap's $4,560 sale of Tip.club.

The first five was rounded out by #4 Cards.org ($4,000 at Flippa) and a trio of two-letter .club domains that tied for 5th at $3,455 each - all through Sedo. The .CLUB Registry released all of their premium sales from August and September this week and that allowed them to pile up 15 of the 21 chart entries (the extra spot came from a tie for the final position).
