2-Character .Com Leads This Week's Sales Chart After 6-Figure Sale - Quartet of 3-Letter .Coms Close Behind

We have started seeing a little more variety on our weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart but the upper rungs of the ladder are still dominated by ultra short .com domains. The headliner this week was Sedo's $130,000 sale of V5.com. Four of the next six spots on the elite list went to 3-letter .coms. For the second week in a row Greg Ricks' PerfectName.com filled the runner-up slot, scoring this time with CJH.com at $68,888. Sedo put three more domains from this category on the leader board with #4 BMV.com going for $41,125, #6 UOA.com yielding $26,160 and #7 OZX.com drawing $24,999.

Sedo also filled the gaps between those 3-letter domains, putting Ligado.com in the #3 hole at $50,000 and Insites.com at #5 with a $35,000 sale. Sedo went on to sweep 15 of the 20 chart entries.

The only other venue with multiple chart entries was SnapNames who hit the trifecta with three names on the Big Board - two of those in top ten. #8 556655.com fetched $20,550 and #10 EMSSoftware.com commanded $18,750

By Ron Jackson

Chart honors also went to IndusDomains for their $15,000 sale of #11 MillenniumBank.com. That sale helped the .coms come within a hair of running the board as they took every position but one. The only exception was Sedo's sale of the lone ccTLD on the list - German domain Fahrradtasche.de ("bicycle bag" in German) - at €9,500 ( $10,355), ranking #17 overall.

That left the non .com gTLDs out in the cold. Only 11 sales were reported from that group and none reached five figures (you'll find more on that category later in this report).

Keep in mind that these are the highest value cash only sales that have been reported to us in the past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both. ("bicycle bag" in German) at $10,355 via Sedo. They went on to sweep the first seven spots on our latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart and 14 of 20 places overall. Sedo booked $5,500 for #2 Extre.me, $5,450 for #3 Effortless.co.uk and $5,449 for Korn.de. They rounded out the first five with a pair of $4,000 sales - one for IMT.in and the other Pay.ph.
