Pair of 6-Figure Sales (One a New gTLD) and a Half-Dozen 3-Letter .Coms Highlight This Week's Sales Chart

Just about everyone can find something to be happy about in this week's domain sales report. As always, the .coms had a lot to celebrate including the week's biggest sale, as well as a half-dozen more charted sales in the red hot 3-letter .com category and a sweep of 17 of 20 positions on our latest all extension Top 20 Chart

New gTLD proponents will be happy to see another six-figure sale (the third from this group in less than 30 days) and ccTLD fans can take pride in two country code domains crashing the top ten.

Ringtones.com set the pace with a $105,000 sale at  NameJet.com. That big new gTLD sale was close behind with Minds+Machines banking $100,000 for Net.work. The buyer was BearingPoint, a well-known business consulting firm.

NameJet filled the #3 slot with Baotou.com at $61,801 then started the 3-letter .com run with #4 YBF.com at $55,301. They went on to pile up 13 chart entries overall. Sedo added fuel to the .com fire with a quartet of charted sales led by #8 Vigia.com at $25,000

By Ron Jackson

The ccTLDs took their first turn in the spotlight with Nidoma.com's $42,944 sale of #5 Cialde.it (the Italian word for "coffee pads"). Nidoma notched the second country code sale as well, again with an Italian domain - #9 Capsule.it at $21,472.

While the Net.work sale gave the non .com gTLDs a chart entry, there was no room at the inn for the traditional powers in that category - .net and .org. One came close though with NameJet's $10,001 sale of PJ.org falling just outside the Top 20.

Now on to a look at how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, July 5:

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org, .biz, .info & others, including new gTLDs)

No doubt about who made the big noise in the non .com gTLD category this week. It was Minds+Machines with their $100,000 sale of Net.work - the second biggest sale of the week regardless of extension. This also ranks among the five biggest non .com gTLD sales reported so far this year (the YTD Top 100 for this group is the third chart on the page linked to). It is also interesting to note that three of the year's five biggest sales in this category are new gTLDs.

The runner up spot on our latest weekly Non .com gTLD Top Sales Chart goes to NameJet for their $10,001 sale of PJ.org. Sedo rounded out the first five with Grandstand.net ($6,800), Kazino.casino ($5,500) and One.vacations (also at $5,500). Sedo went on to sweep 13 of the 17 reported sales. One of the few they missed was #7 Refinancing.info, a name that Christian Calvin sold for $5,000 in a private transaction.

The .nets easily won the extension race with nine chart entries followed by the .orgs with four.  Here's how all of the Non .Com gTLD leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, July 5:
