Another
3-Letter .Com Clears the 6-Figure Bar to Top This Week's Domain Sales Chart
The thirst for short .com domains
remains unquenched. Last
week the blockbuster $1 million sale of QNB.com
made that clear, a point that was underscored this week with another
3-letter .com heading our all extension
Top 20 Sales Chart after ringing the 6-figure bell. FindYourDomain.com
(FYD) did the honors with YIN.com at $180,000.
In releasing several of their recent sales
for the first time FYD took the top two spots on the leader board
- both of them short .com domains. The runner-up, Xiao.com,
just missed six figures, coming in at $97,857. Overall FYD put
six
names on the elite list, including another one that landed on the
top half of the ladder - #9 FoodLine.com at $14,000.
The first five was rounded out by the $50,000 sale of
#3 Hacked.com
handled by Flippa.com
and NameConnect.com,
the $40,000 sale
of #4 SC.tv at MostWantedDomains.com
and Sedo's$35,477 sale of CompetitiveIntelligence.com.
In addition to being the week's biggest ccTLD
sale, SC.tv was
one of three that Michael Berkens's company put on the Big
Board, including another top ten entry in #8 TravelNepal.com
at $15,000.
By
Ron Jackson
Sedo
also had their usual solid week with nine chart entries including the only non
.com gTLD entry on this week's chart - #18 OVN.org at
$9,888.
With the .coms sweeping 19 of the
22 chart entries (the extra spots resulted from a three-way tie for
the final position), the country codes also faced tough sledding but
did claim two spots with #7 EasyHotel.ch at $21,800
joining SC.tv on the honor roll. There is an interesting story
behind that sale of EasyHotel.ch in a private
transaction that we detailed in a Lowdown
post Monday. It's worth checking out if you missed it.

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org, .biz,

The non
.com gTLDs had no five-figure sales reported this week. The
#1 domain on our latest weekly Non .com gTLD Top 20 Chart
just missed with OVN.org coming in at $9,888 via
Sedo. They also sold runner-up After.org for $5,000
and went on to book 13 of the 15 sales reported in this
category.
The exceptions were a couple of nice new
gTLD domains - Atlanta.limo and LasVegas.limo
- that Ryan Hilberth of Rentalimo.com
bought from Steve Reuben for $4,400 each in a
deal handled by Afternic.com.
That put the matching pair in a tie for third on this week's
leader board.
The .nets won the extension race with
five chart entries followed by the .orgs with three. Here's how all of the Non .Com gTLD leaders
