The Year's 7th Reported 7-Figure Sale Tops This Week's Sales Chart:  DomainGuardians Gets Its Done With a 3-Letter .Com

The chase for the top spot on this week's DN Journal Sales Chart wound up being a one-horse race with BTC.com winning by about 16 lengths. DomainGuardians.com brokered a $1,000,000 sale of that domain to bitcoin mining firm GAWMiners. That is the 7th largest sale reported so far this year and the seventh to hit the 7-figure mark.

The runner-up spot on the all extension leader board went to Ejtel.com for their $60,000 sale of Fighters.com. NameJet followed with #3 Big Deals.com at $36,100 then NetFleet.com.au put the week's biggest ccTLD sale in the #4 slot with Training.com.au going for $30,848 there. That sale was an embarrassing one for the Australian government whose Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations had let the domain expire!

Rounding out the first five was Banyo.com, a name that NoktaDomains sold for $30,500. That helped the .coms sweep 9 of the top 10 spots on the Big Board and 16 0f 20 entries overall. The country codes claimed three places, with Sedo accounting for two of those including #11 13.de at $20,100. The non .com gTLDs were limited to one spot - NameJet's $14,667 sale of #17 FL.org.

By Ron Jackson

NameJet, who reported all of their June sales at once, went on to pile up 11 chart entries overall. There was an exceptionally large number of 3-letter .com sales on the chart this week - seven in all with NameJet posting five of those.

Sedo was the only other venue with multiple chart entries, having another good outing with five names on the elite list, including one of those 3-letter .coms - #7 JTF.com at $25,100
