Trek.com is Star of This Week's Domain Sales Show After Changing Hands for 6 Figures in One of the Year's 5 Biggest Transactions

No question about who was this week's star in the domain aftermarket. Broker Peter Ejtel of SharedReviews.com closed a $245,000 deal with the Trek Bicycle Corporation for Trek.com - a transaction that ranks among the five biggest sales reported so far this year. The bike company has been operating from TrekBikes.com and their new prize possession - Trek.com - already redirects to their current site.

The week was doubly sweet for industry veteran Ejtel, who also also brokered the $80,000 sale of Shoot.com, giving SharedReviews the top two spots on our new all extension Top 20 Sales Chart.

Rounding out the first five are Sedo's $41,000 sale of #3 OffMarket.com and a pair of Afternic sales - #4 Emeraude.com at $28,000 and #5 LuxuryClub.com at $25,000

.Coms swept the first eight places on the elite list before the ccTLDs crashed the party by posting two of the four sales that tied for #9 at $15,000 each. Those were Radio.co and TopUp.in - both sold thru Sedo, a venue that piled up 11 of the 21 chart entries (the extra spot resulted from a tie for the final position).

By Ron Jackson

Afternic claimed four places on the leader board and CheapYellowPages.com filled three slots, including two in the top ten - #8 CenterSquare.com at $17,500 and #9 (tie) Skinco.com at $15,000. Flippa.com also earned chart honors with #13 (tie) Civic.com at $13,000

As usual, .com easily won the TLD race, sweeping 17 of the 21 chart entries. The remaining four places all went to country code domains. The non .com gTLDs were left out in the cold with no five-figure sales reported in that category this week.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, June 23:

This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both. Country Codes

The four five-figure ccTLD sales you saw in the all extension section above fill the top slots on our new Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. The highest sale in this category that you haven't seen yet is #5 Car.ma at $9,990 via Sedo.

Sedo went on to sweep 20 of the 22 chart (the extra spots resulted from a three-way tie for the final position). Their roster included #6 Brillen-Online.de at $7,540 and #7 Obese.me at $6,500. Afternic and Golem.eu were the only other venues represented on the leader board - Afternic scoring with #4 Jasmin.tv at $12,000 and Golem.eu getting in with #17 (tie) Formed.eu at $3,250.

With seven chart entries, Germany's .de easily won the extension race, but there was again a lot of diversity on this week's chart with 13 different countries represented on the leader board. Only two other TLDs had more than one entry - the Netherlands' .nl with three and Switzerland's .ch with two.

Here is how the country code leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, June 23:
