ccTLDs Pile Up 9 Entries on This Week's Sales Chart But There Were No Six-Figure Sales for First Time in Two Months

After seven straight weeks led by one or more six-figure sales, the domain aftermarket took a breather this week with the highest reported sale topping out at $32,500. That was GlobalOffice.com, a name that put Afternic at #1 on our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart.

Sedo took the runner-up slot with 3DCity.com at $29,500 and shared third place with Afternic. Sedo's half of that position came from selling Creditos.com.mx (Mexican ccTLD) for $19,000. Afternic matched that figure with MargaritaMachine.com

Sedo rounded out the first five with another country code domain, #5 SpringChicken.co.uk at $18,120. After being shut out last week the ccTLDs came roaring back this week, claiming nine places on the Big Board. Sedo accounted for seven of those including #6 Garnki.pl at $16,192, #7 Cavalli.it at $15,360 and #8 Essentials.co.uk at $15,100.

By Ron Jackson

Sedo wound up sweeping 15 of the 21 chart entries overall (the extra spot resulted from a tie for the final spot). Afternic staked out four places on the elite list including three top ten entries. The remaining two spots both went to Brands-and-Jingles.com who scored with a pair of .me domains - #12 Twist.me at $11,500 and #18 Ticket.me at $9,600.

With the .coms taking 12 chart entries and the ccTLDs nine, the non .com gTLDs were left empty handed this time around. With no five-figure sales reported in that category the group's best sale was Home.info at $7,500 via Afternic.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, May 19:

Country Codes

What a difference a week makes. After having no five-figure sales last week the ccTLDs stormed back with seven of them this week and wound up taking nine places on the all extension leader board you saw above. The highest sale in this category that you haven't seen yet is #10 on our new Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. That is CarWash.com.au, an Australian domains that sold for $6,450 at NetFleet.com.au

As always, Sedo dominated the ccTD leader board, taking 15 of the 20 positions. They kicked off the second ten with #11DigitalSignage.de at $6,400. NetFleet.com had three chart entries and the other two - both top ten entries and .me domains - went to Brands-and-Jingles.com.

Germany's .de won the extension race with six chart entries. Great Britain's .co.uk, Montenegro's .me and Australia's .com.au were next with three each and were the only other TLDs with multiple chart entries.

Here is how the country code leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, May 19:
