Twin $200,000 Sales at HuntingMoon Top This Week's Domain Sales Chart

HuntingMoon.com racked up not just one - but two - $200,000 sales this week to claim the first two positions on our latest all extension Top 20 Sales Chart. Those sales of SexStories.com and AsianPorn.com (both to the same buyer) also rank among the five biggest transactions reported so far this year.

.Coms swept the entire top ten with DomainHoldings, DomainNameSales, DomainMarket, Afternic, DomainAdvisors and Sedo all playing a role in the .com onslaught.

DomainHoldings rang up the $70,000 sale of #3 Struts.com, DomainNameSales wolfed down $55,000 for #4 SquareDeal.com and DomainMarket rounded out the first five by selling ChinaManufacturing.com for $35,000 to the owners of  Manufacturing China

The President of that well established company, Ron Berkes, signed off on the acquisition. Berkes told me he paid only $9 to get the company's current domain - ManufacturingChina.com. Of course, that was many years ago.

By Ron Jackson

Sedo wound up with the most chart entries - taking seven places with a roster that included the two ccTLDs that qualified for the elite list. The highest of those was an IDN, #11 Låna.nu, a name that changed hands for $19,300. #15 DR.co.uk added $15,300

The .coms claimed every remaining position, leaving the non .com gTLDs out in the cold as that category was unable to muster any five-figure sales this week. Afternic booked five of the .com headliners with #6 TabletScreen.com taking the lead for them at $25,000

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, April 21:

This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both.
