Laying
Down the Law - Afternic Locks Up the Top Spot on This Week's Domain
Sales Chart With LawHelp.com
There were no six-figure sales reported
this week butAfternic
came within hailing distance of that lofty level with an $85,000
sale of LawHelp.com that gave them the lead role on this
week's all extension Top 20
Domain Sales Chart.
Afternic also had a hand in two more sales
that made the elite list. They turned #15 RacingStuff.com
over for $18,000, then joined forces with GoDaddyAuctions
to sell #17 (tie) Freebies.org for $15,000.
GoDaddyAuctions wound up piling up ten
chart entries to lead all venues. Their roster was led by the week's
biggest ccTLD sale, #3 XE.co at $37,500. They
put two more on the top half of the leader board with FPCU.com
and WorldBet.com going for $25,000 each to tie for
#7.
Sedoalso had their usual powerful outing with #2 WeddingInsurance.com
at $50,000 leading their nine charted sales. Five of those
crashed the top ten, including three country code domains; #4 (tie) Wholesale.co.uk
($30,000), #6 Bankenvergleich.de ($25,968) and #10
Stamps.co.uk ($24,120).
The .coms piled up 14 of the 21
chart entries (the extra spot resulting from a tie for the final
position). The ccTLDs claimed four places on the Big Board
(with all of those landing in the top ten) and the non .com gTLDs
earned three spots. The latter group was led by #7 (tie) QF.net,
a name that sold for $25,000 at Sedo.
Here is how the
sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, March 3:

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value cash only sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
There were six more five-figure sales off the

Country Codes
It was a very good week for the ccTLDS
as four of the year's ten biggest country code sales were booked
this week alone. You saw that quartet of solid six five-figuresales
on the all extension leader board above. They, of course, also
fill the first four slots on our new Country Code Top 20
Sales Chart, with XE.co leading the way with that
$37,500 sale at GoDaaddyAuctions.
The biggest sale
in this category that you haven't seen yet is #5 CDNAir.ca,
a Canadian domain sold by DomainNames.ca
for $8,475. That was the only other charted sale not
claimed by Sedo who swept 18 of the 20 chart entries, including
#6 PracticeStudio.co.uk at $8,305.
Great Britain's .co.uk won the extension race with
six chart entries, nosing Germany's de which had five. No one else had more than two.
The only other extension with multiple chart entries was .tv,
a TLD that hit the daily double with #15 OM.tv ($4,700) and
#18 Testosterone.tv at $4,000.
