Sedo
and DomainNameSales Trade Punches in Sweeping 9 of the Top 10 Spots
on This Week's Sales Chart
In a battle reminiscent of a
heavyweight championship fight, popular domain aftermarket sales
platforms Sedo
and DomainNameSales
traded punches in a duel that ended with 9 of this week's 10 biggest
domain sales being split between those two combatants. Sedo scored first -
and scored big with #1 Partners.com, brokered by Dave
Evanson, putting $125,000 on their side of the
ledger.
In a nice follow-up Sedo also took the #2
spot on our all extension Top 20 Sales Chart with Banque.com
at $91,210. DomainNamesSales answered by sweeping the rest of
the first five with ProjectLife.com ($75,000), CityMD.com
($45,000) and S88.com ($35,000). But that wasn't the end
of it. Sedo came right back to claim the next two spots, then
DomainNameSales landed another blow of their own with a fourth top
ten entry.
Sedo finally pulled away down the stretch,
taking seven places on the second half of the leader board to wind
up with 12 of 20 entries overall. DomainNamesSales booked five
places and Afternic
rang up three, including a top ten entry of their own, #8 (tie) ClearWireless.com
at $20,000. Afternic is a dominating player in the
market's four-figure sweet spot but they also make their presence
known at the high end each week.

The .coms had their usual powerful
outing, ringing up 13 of the 20 chart entries. The non .com gTLDs
followed with four with that category being led by #7 Assurance.org
at $22,110 via Sedo. That group also had a nice two-letter
.org sale with #12 OE.org generating $16,750, also
through Sedo - a venue that rang up all three charted ccTLD sales
as well. The country code contingent was led by # 10 VideoShop.tv
at $18,760.

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value cash only sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high

because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
