Four
6-Figure Sales Totaling Nearly $1 Million Top This Week's Domain
Sales Chart
We're three weeks into November and
all three have been very strong ones for the domain
aftermarket. The past week was the month's best yet for the high end
of the market with a quartet of six-figure sales totaling just under
$1 million setting the pace. FindYourDomain.com
brokered the top two - GiftBasket.com at $350,000 and
Feng.com at $250,000. That GiftBasket.com sale to the
owner of WineGiftBaskets.com ranks as
the 6th biggest sale of the year
to date.
Cotton.com followed at #3 with a $205,890
sale at Moniker/SnapNames
and #4 ECS.com completed the six-figure line up after
changing hands for $150,000 in a private transaction.
DomainNameSales.com
claimed the next two spots on this week's all extension Top 20
Sales Chart with AirportRentals.com at $45,000 and
the week's best country code sale, eFax.ca (Canadian
ccTLD) at $30,000. Two more ccTLDS made the elite list, #7 JobCentre.co.uk
at $27,500 and #15 Menopausa.it (Italian country code)
at $14,080. Sedo
handled both of those sales.

The non .com gTLDs also had three
representatives on the Big Board, including a pair that crashed the
top ten, #8 Good.net ($26,500 at Sedo) and #9 Brilliant.org
($25,000 at DomainMarket.com).
The .coms swept 14 of the 20 chart
entries including a name that completed the Top 10 - Gamepedia.com
at $19,200 via Sedo. Sedo wound up claiming eight places on
the leader board to win the race among venues. DomainNameSales was
next, having a hand in a half dozen charted sales, including one
they shared with DomainAdvisors.com
- #16 CookieCard.com at $13,000.
Here is how the leaders stacked up for the

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
Forthe many newcomers entering the domain
industry we also want to point out that the reasons why a domain name sells for a certain price can be varied and are not always clear to those who are unfamiliar with the domain market.
If you do not understand why specific domain names command the
prices they do, you are likely to make unwise domain registrations or purchases.
We highly recommend that you do some basic research beforeyou buyanything! As a starting point we have
built a sister site specifically for you at NameNewbie.com.

Country Codes
The ccTLDs were led by the three five-figure
sales you saw on the all extension Top 20 Chart above. The highest sale
in this category that you haven't seen yet is #4
on this week's Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. That is LondonRestaurants.co.uk
at $8,904 via Sedo.
Three sales tied for the 5th spot on the leader
board with AdCash.de, GBTimes.co.uk and WebShops.ch
going for $6,400 each. Sedo handled all three of those sales
and went on to sweep 19 of the 20 chart entries. The only one that escaped their
grasp was #1 eFax.ca at $30,000 through
DomainNameSales.com.
Germany's .de won the extension race with
seven chart entries followed by Great Britain's .co.uk with
five. The possibility that Nominet
may open up second level registrations (for example
Cars.uk) has cast a bit of cloud over the .co.uk market, but
obviously that extension is nowhere near being dead just yet. No other
TLDs had more than one chart entry this week.
Here is how the country code leaders stacked

The two five-figure sales you saw on the all
extension Top 20 Chart earlier led the charge for the non

ten places apiece.
