A
Pair of Six-Figure Sales Including One That Ties for the Year's 2nd
Biggest Transaction Headline a Solid Week for the Domain Aftermarket
November is off to a fast start in
the domain aftermarket with two-six figures sales and 40 more that
hit five figures leading the way. The owners of FreeWebsite.com
just revealed
that they acquired the domain for their new site for $500,000
in January. A search at Screenshots.com
showed that the domain was previously used to redirect traffic to
Webmasters.com. The half-million dollar sale put FreeWebsite.com in
a four-way tie for second place on our Year
to Date Top 100 Sale Chart.
Another six-figure sale was posted by Rick
Schwartz's eRealEstate.com.
Rick moved FreeSexCams.com for $150,000 in a deal that
ranks among the 20 biggest sales reported so far in 2012.
The past week also wound up being .com's
most dominating week of the year. The .coms
wound up sweeping 19 of the 20 positions on our latest all extension
Top 20 Sales Chart. The only exception was a .com.au
(Australia's country code) represented by NetFleet.com.au's$19,501 sale of #14 WeddingInvitations.com.au.

Ron Jackson
The .coms monopolized the first 13 spots
on the elite elite with #3 CarTransport.com ($85,400
at Afternic.com),
#4 Jane.com ($60,000 at Sedo.com)
and #5 Closers.com ($32,000 in a MediaOptions.com
sale made on the DomainNameSales.com
platform) rounding out the first five.
GoDaddyAuctions.com
posted the most chart entries with five with #7 IOOI.com
leading their roster at $25,000. DomainNamesSales had a hand
in four charted sales including #6 Yasso.com at $30,000.
Sedo and Afternic each scored three times while NameJet.com
got on the board twice with a pair that included a top ten entry -
#9 Nexity.com at $21,100.
Chart honors also went to Bill
Karamouzis who picked up #11 (tie) iTrust.com for
$20,000 in a private transaction.

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
Forthe many newcomers entering the domain
industry we also want to point out that the reasons why a domain name sells for a certain price can be varied and are not always clear to those who are unfamiliar with the domain market.
If you do not understand why specific domain names command the
prices they do, you are likely to make unwise domain registrations or purchases.
We highly recommend that you do some basic research beforeyou buyanything! As a starting point we have
built a sister site specifically for you at NameNewbie.com.
With 22 more sales reaching five-figures we
had enough notable sales reported this week to fill two
Top 20 Charts. The ones that fell just short of the Big Board
above were led by a trio of $15,000 sales at three
different venues.
Afternic sold Crusher.com for $15,000
and also moved Indigos.com ($14,250), Datatek.com
($10,088) and MotherMeera.com ($10,000).
GoDaddyAuctions sold ContactBank.com for $15,000, Sudai.com
for $14,500, ICAD.com for $11,005 and StoryFarm.com
for $10,000. Sedo got their $15,000 from
CourtRecord.com and added $13,000 for Icite.com,
$12,800 for Envizion.com and $10,000 for Comadre.com.
Sedo also sold Snowmobiler.com on the GoDaddyAuctions
platform for $10,000.
NameJet had six more sales at this level led by Eguan.com
($12,788), PortlandHomes.com ($11,333) and TPW.com
($10,655). IQG .com added $10,651, Chilli.com
chalked up $10,200 and GTATravel.com booked $10,000.

with CustomCase.com and Vieri.com at $9,500
apiece. PictureCanvas.com posted $9,000, LifecycleMarketing.com
landed $8,500 and RedSpace.com returned $7,800.
