Six-Figure
Sales Streak Extended to Four Weeks With $118,000 Deal At Sedo
For the fourth week in a row a
six-figure sale leads our all extension Top 20 Sales Chart. Sedokept the streak alive by selling Designers.com for $118,000
in a deal
handled by their veteran broker Dave Evanson.
With #2 Xinjiang.com at $55,000
and #3 WOD.com at $51,570, Sedo swept the top three
spots on the leader board and wound up taking 8 of 21 places overall
(the extra spot resulted from a tie for the final position).
Sedo
also had a huge developed website sale this week with their broker, Frank
Tillmanns, getting a €275,000 ($341,234) deal done for Hoteles.es
("hotels" in Spanish). I had the inside story on how that
deal went down in an article
in our Lowdown section Tuesday.
Developed website sales are not eligible
for our charts, but Sedo's haul still included the week's top ccTLD
domain sale - #8 HowAreYou.co.uk at $15,600, one of
three country code domains to earn places on the elite list. The
others were Sedo's sale of #12 JustFab.fr at $12,400
and the Moniker/SnapNames
sale of #16 (tie) Erotica.co.uk at $10,000.

The non .com gTLDs were limited to one chart entry. That
was #14 OTO.net at $11,300 through NameJet.com.
They also charted two .coms - #9 (tie) PoolServices.com
($15,000) and #13 CharlotteApartments.com ($12,322).
In another dominating performance the .coms swept 17 of the 21
chart entries with five of those posted at the AfternicDLS
who had a strong outing led by #4 GlobalCareer.com at $29,600
and #7 Gobstopper.com at $16,500.
Frank Schilling's DomainNameSales
also claimed multiple chart entries with a hand in three sales that
made the Big Board. They moved #5 Kamma.com for $25,000
and also worked with GoDaddyAuctions
to sell #9 (tie) DutyBound.com for $15,000 and #11
PyramidPower.com for $14,000.
Chart honors also went to Flippa.com
who sold #15 MediaInfo.com for $10,100 on behalf of
seller DNArab.com.

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
Forthe many newcomers entering the domain
industry we also want to point out that the reasons why a domain name sells for a certain price can be varied and are not always clear to those who are unfamiliar with the domain market.
If you do not understand why specific domain names command the
prices they do, you are likely to make unwise domain registrations or purchases.
We highly recommend that you do some basic research beforeyou buyanything! As a starting point we have
built a sister site specifically for you at NameNewbie.com.
The AfternicDLS led the .com supporting cast of
four-figure sales with HomeIdol.com and
SmileRewards.com at $9,500 each. They kept the cash
registers singing with RochesterNewYork.com ($7,500), WhoMe.com

Three others; JobGator.com, MotocrossHelmets.com

provided $4,995 and NoWork.com coasted to $4,700.
NationalLogistics.com and PureConnect.com clicked
for $4,500 each while ChurchProject.com produced $4,488.
