ArtDeco.com
Draws Highest Sales Price Reported in the Domain Aftermarket This
Week
Things were slower than usual at
the upper end of the domain market this past week with no six-figure
sales reported and only one topping $25,000. That was ArtDeco.com,
a domain that changed hands for $75,000 at Sedo
to take the lead position on our latest weekly weekly all extension Top
20 Sales Chart.
Sedo also took the #2 slot with Diabete.com
at $21,125 and they went on to pile up 12 of the 20 chart entries
including 7 of the top 10. YummyNames
slipped into the #3 hole with Onboarding.com at $20,000
and DomainAdvisors.com
used the DomainNameSales.com
platform to sell #4 Brandly.com for $19,500.
The AfternicDLS
also had a top ten entry with #6 TravelCircle.com at $14,500
and they rang up three more sales that made the Big Board.
DomainNameSales was the only other venue with multiple chart entries
having a hand in three transactions on the elite list.
By
Ron Jackson
The .coms swept 16 of the 20 chart entries. The other four spots
went to ccTLDs, leaving the non .com gTLDs out in the
cold with no reported sales in that category reaching more than four
figures this week.
Sedo posted all four of those country code sales,
including two that made the top ten. Those were GetGoods.se
(Swedish ccTLD) and RapidMail.it (Italian ccTD), a pair of
names that went for $12,500 each to tie for #8.
Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the
week ending Sunday, June 24:

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
Forthe many newcomers entering the domain
industry we also want to point out that the reasons why a domain name sells for a certain price can be varied and are not always clear to those who are unfamiliar with the domain market.
If you do not understand why specific domain names command the
prices they do, you are likely to make unwise domain registrations or purchases.
We highly recommend that you do some basic research beforeyou buyanything! As a starting point we have
built a sister site specifically for you at NameNewbie.com.

Country Codes
TheccTLDs were led by the quartet of five-figure sales
that you saw on the all extension Top 20 Chart above. The biggest
sale in this category that you haven't seen yet is #5 on this week's
Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. That is a French ccTLD, Photographe.fr,
that changed hands for $9,375 at Sedo.
Sedo went on to sweep 20 of the 21 chart entries
(the extra position resulted from a three-way tie for the final
spot). Their roster included #6 Glyphosat.de at $8,125
and another French domain, #7 Lelit.fr, at $7,500.
The AfternicDLS prevented Sedo from running the board by selling
#10 ContactLense.tv for $5,000.
Germany's
.de and Great Britain's .co.uk shared the lead in
the
TLD race with each extension claiming five chart entries. Italy's .it,
Tuvalu's .tv, France's .fr and India's .in were
the only other TLDs with multiple chart entries as they each took
two.
Here is how the ccTLD leaders stacked

If there are country code extensions in our report
that you are not familiar with, you can look up the nation each
extension goes with here.
TheNon .Com gTLDs had one of their
weakest outings of the year with no five-figure sales reported in
that category. That left the door open for WheyProtein.org to
lead our new Non .Com gTLDTop 20 Sales
Chart with an $8,000 sale. With no other sales topping
$5,000 it was a long way back to #2 Meldung.org at $4,375.
Sedo handled both of those sales.
Still it was the AfternicDLS who dominated this
chart, piling up 15 of the 20 chart entries with a group led by a
trio of .orgs; #3 Classy.org ($4,000), #4 Adagio.org
($3,888) and #5 Connecting.org ($3,788), giving the .orgs
a sweep of the first five positions.
With that big early lead the .orgs hung on to win
the extension race taking 11 chart entries compared to .net's
nine. The .nets were led by #6 Azoren.net at $3,440
and #7 HealthJobs.net at $3,300.
