Dave Evanson's Latest Chart Topper Gives Him 2020's Two Highest Reported Domain Sales

Sedo Senior Broker Dave Evanson is starting to make a habit out of this. Three weeks ago he topped our weekly all-extension Top 20 Domain Sales Chart with Results.com at $264,000 - a sale that still ranks as the largest publicly reported sale so far in 2020. This week he is back on top of the elite list again, locking down the #1 slot with a $200,000 sale of Profitable.com, giving him the two highest sales reported year to date. Evanson has actually been posting sales like this for nearly a decade now. His 10-year anniversary with Sedo is coming up in September and he is obviously going to have a lot to celebrate.

In last week's report we noted how rare it was to have the three biggest sales all be non .com domains. Call this week, "the revenge of the .coms!" They came back with all guns blazing to sweep the first four entries on the leader board and nine of the top ten. NameJet assisted the .com assault with their $73,055 sale of #$2 Koles.com, one of five .coms that put on the honor roll. Sedo rounded out the Fab Four with #3 Stairs.com at $67,500 (brokered by, who else?, Dave Evanson again!) and #4 ThaiCasino.com at $60,000.

By Ron Jackson

Uniregistry also piled on, adding three .com sales of their own, with #7 Holocare.com leading their trio at $22,200.

As strong as the .coms were, the ccTLDs also had plenty to celebrate as they stacked up six entries on the Big Board. #5 Jane.ca led the country code charge with a $25,000 sale at Sedo. They accounted for all of ccTLDs in the all-star lineup en route to rolling up 11 of the 20 chart entries overall.

The non .com gTLDs were limited to one entry this week. That went to #14 (tie) Simple.cloud, a domain that Nidoma.com's Shaun Wilkinson sold for $15,000

Country Codes

The ccTLDs were, of course, led by that sextet of sales you saw on the all extension leader board above with Sedo's $25,000 sale of Jane.ca setting the pace. The highest sale in the category that you haven't seen yet is #7 on our latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. That is another Sedo sale - Tarot.co.uk at $9,024.

Sedo, who traditionally dominates the ccTLD category, swept 18 of the 21 chart entries overall (the extra spot resulted from a tie for the final position). Uniregistry claimed two spots, including #10 with Phoenix.ca at $6,000. AscendDomains.com claimed the remaining place on the honor roll with #11 Rehabs.in at $5,125.

Germany's popular .de scored another runaway win in the extension race with eight chart entries. No other TLD had more than three, the number logged by Austria's .at. Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the week ending Sunday, February 9, 2020:
