.Coms and Non .Coms Evenly Split This Week's Top 20 Sales With 10 Entries Each

It is a rare occasion when .coms don't dominate our weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart. The past week was one of those with non .com domain claiming just as many chart entries as .com domains with the two sides ending up in a 10-10 deadlock. The .coms did dominate the top of the elite list though,  sweeping the first three positions and four of the top five. A five-letter acronym - TMHCC.com - led the pack, changing hands for $65,000 at Sedo. The buyer was a multi-national insurance company called Tokio Marine HCC.

Flippa.com filled the #2 hole with Retard.com at $61,936 and they went on to claim three of the five biggest sales, four of the top ten and five places overall. Sedo completed the .com power trio at the top with #3 0Z.com (numeral "0" and letter "Z") at $32,500.

The non .coms scored their first goal with Flippa's $24,999 sale of Bid.net. Three of the ten charted non .com sales were new gTLDs - all representing .top - led by #6 VR.top at $18,564 via West.cn.

By Ron Jackson

Six of the non .com sales went to gTLDs with the other four falling in the ccTLD column. The country codes were led by two Sedo sales of .eu (European Union) domains that tied for #7 - Career.eu and Careers.eu - at $16,950 each. Sedo went on to win the venue race with ten chart entries overall.
