Aftermarket Remains All in on AI - 8 of the Top 10 Sales on
DNJournal's Latest Chart Are .AI Including the Top Two
Just
two years ago, if someone told you the ccTLD for the tiny
Caribbean nation of Anguilla (.AI) would be
lighting up domain sales charts like fireworks on New
Year's Eve within 24 months, you would have thought they
were crazy. Yet here we are. In 2022 not a single .AI
domain appeared on our Top
100 Chart for that year. This year isn't it over
yet and we already have 21 .AI domains on the 2024
YTD Top 100, with new ones being added every week.
Another
trio joined the elite annual list this week with .AI sweeping
three of the top four spots on our latest bi-weekly all
extension Top 20 Sales Chart. Two of those reached six
figures to take the top spots on the
honor
roll after Namecheap
announced Win.ai had sold for $130,000 and
Review.ai for $115,000. They also accounted for #4
Instruct.ai at $60,000 and that was still just the
start of an 8-entry tear through the Top 20 for .AI.
The
traditionally dominant .coms still claimed the most
spots by a nose - nine in all - with the top one coming from
industry veteran Michael Neal's $65,000 sale of #3 Repeatable.com
via Afternic.
The #5 spot wound up summarizing the general storyline this
time out with a .com and a .AI tying for that position at
$50,000 each. Sedo
accounted for the .com half of that pie with Dure.com
while James Booth at DomainBooth.com
secured .AI's share with ICP.ai.
Thanks
to .AI, ccTLDs piled up nine chart entries overall with the
addition of one non-AI domain, Sedo's $17,499 sale of
#15 Gia.in. With the .coms and .AI's trading so many
high powered punches, the non .com gTLDs found just two
openings this week - a $20,000 sale of #12 Policies.org
at URLs.net
andAfternic's
$12,888 sale of #9 Blackthorn.xyz.
By Ron Jackson
On
another front, a nice historical sale was uncovered by Elliot
Silver at DomainInvesting.com,
who learned that Roofs.com was sold last year for
$303,000. Elliot found the evidence in an SEC filing,
allowing us to add that sale to the 2023
Top 100 Sales Chart in our Domain
Sales Archive where it now ranks as the #18 publicly
reported sale for last year.
Now,
back to the present, here is how
all of the
leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday,

Keep in mind that these are the highest value
cash only sales that have been reported to us in the
past two weeks. This column is meant to be an educational tool, not
a complete list documenting ALL high value domain
sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales
are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both.
Our procedure for verifying the accuracy of domain sales
reports is available here.
There were nine more five-figure sales off the
chart with Sedo accounting for all but one of those. They
moved Maikr.com for $11,189, Beepr.com

Country
Codes
After reading the all
extension section above, you already know .AI ran rampant over
the past two weeks, so much so that the Anguilla country code
domain swept the top eight spots on our latest ccTLD Top 20 Sales Chart
with Win.ai literally "for the win" at $130,000
via Namecheap. That left just two openings on the top half
of the leader board for other TLDs. Sedo claimed both of those
with #9 Gia.in at $17,499 and #10 Ventures.fr at $10,599.
There was lot more diversity
on the second half of the honor roll with seven different TLDs
represented in the next ten (actually next 11 due to a three-way tie
for the final position). Germany's .de popped up most often in
that pack with four entries.
Here is how the all of the
top ccTLDs stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, Nov.

added $3,392 for Foodtrick-Mieten.de and $3,180

Non .com gTLDs
The non.com gTLDs
were led by a quartet of four-figure sales with Policies.org out
in front thanks to a $20,000 sale at URLs.net. We list
all five-figure and higher sales in the all extension section above so
the biggest sale in this group that you haven't seen yet is the #5
domain on our latest Non .com gTLD Top 20 Sales Chart - Afternic's
$9,888 sale of Raven.pro.
The TLD race was an unusually
tight one this time around the track. The .nets nipped the
.orgs six entries to five, and .art was right on their
heels with four. Here is how the non
.com gTLD leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday,
