Buyer Not Stubborn - Pays 6 Figures in Sale That Tops This
Week's Chart
Two
more six-figure sales were added to the aftermarket ledger
this week. The one that tops our latest all extension Top
20 Sales Chart is Mules.com, a domain that Tony
Lam sold for $150,000 in a private transaction that
closed yesterday (March 2). The buyer was StickerMule.com,
a marketing savvy end user that sells custom stickers, labels,
magnets and more. The company's slogan is "Custom
stickers that kick ass!" and they just got a perfect
domain to highlight their booty kicking prowess!
Sedo
also rang the six-figure bell with another big 3-letter
.com sale. This time they did it with PLP.com at $117,500.
In addition to being this week's two biggest sales, the
PLP.com and Mules.com transactions both rank among the ten
biggest sales reported so
far in 2021.
While I'm on the subject of six-figure
sales - in case you missed Elliot Silver's post at DomainInvesting.com
a few days ago, Elliot discovered the price paid for Rows.com,
a name that was sold early last year at a then unknown price. The
number turned out to be $100,000 on the button and the new
information allowed us to add that domain to the 2020
Top 100 Sales Chart in our Domain
Sales Archive where it is now tied for #44.
George
Kirikos uncovered the #3 sale on this week's chart. While
looking through an SEC report George learned that
BubblePay.com changed hands in late December for $72,500
with the AppTech Corporation selling the domain to an end user
that already has a website up for a new mobile payment service.
By Ron
Jackson
Braden Pollock at LegalBrandMarketing.com
sold #4 Triangular.com for $55,000 to give the .coms
a sweep of the first four spots. Braden scored a second time with #12 Foundership.com
at $20,000 as the .coms went on to claim 13 of the 20 chart
entries. Bodis.com
CEO Matt Wegrzyn also helped the .com cause and his own company by
acquiring #9 (tie) DomainParking.com for $25,000. As
most of you know, Bodis is one of the leading domain monetization
companies and they now own a category defining domain name that
they will be putting to use soon. I'll be telling you more about their
plans for that in our Lowdown section soon.
The
week's biggest non .com sale is a real eye-popper with #5 UWW.org
going for $47,000 via Uniregistry.
I have been watching 3-letter .org prices steadily rise in
recent months but that one is in an entirely different league. In fact
it ranks as the biggest Non .com gTLD sale reported so far this
year. As of this writing the domain does not resolve but the
public WhoIs record shows it changed hands on February 26 with a major
international amateur wrestling organization based in Switzerland now
shown as the Registrant. One other non .com gTLD made the elite list
this week. That was Sedo's sale of #18 (tie) Burn.art at $12,500.
The
remaining five spots all went to the ccTLDs who have started
the new year on a tear. # 6 (tie) Rely.co.uk set the pace for
the country code domains with Nidoma.com's
Shaun Wilkinson closing a $35,000 sale of that name. Sedo,
the perpetual King of ccTLDs, posted the other four with #11 GartenCenter.de
leading their country code quartet at $24,200.
By
the way, we expect to see some very big sales coming in when RightOfTheDot.com
closes the blockbuster sales they made in their live
online domain auction that was held February 25. Those
include Bird.com at $2.5 million, Fish.com at $1.6
million and Tattoo.com at $750,000! ROTD is also
running a companion online auction that was supposed to end March 4
but has now been extended to Thursday, March 11. That one
includes hundreds of domains that were not in the live auction as well
as many high profile new arrivals. The official site for that auction
is here.
Now,
here's a look at how
all of the sales leaders stacked up for the two weeks

Country Codes
As I noted at
the top of this report, the ccTLDs are keeping the
pedal to the medal. They posted a half dozen five-figure sales (all
noted in the all extension section above) led Rely.co.uk at $35,000
and GartenCenter.de at $24,200. Both of those also rank
among the ten biggest country code sales reported so
far this year (the ccTLD YTD Chart is the second chart on
the page that link goes to).
Sedo had the biggest
sales in this category that you haven't seen yet, the #7 and #8
domains on our latest
bi-weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales
Chart. Those are Mail.hr at $9,680 and SmileMe.de
at $9,075. Sedo went on to sweep 18 of the 20 entries in
a chart they have dominated for 20 years now.
Germany's .de TLD
scored another easy win in the extension race with eight chart
entries. The only other TLD with more than one was .io
with three. Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the
two weeks ending Sunday, February 28, 2021:

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org and
others, including new gTLDs)
No question about who
ruled the Non .Com gTLD roost this week. That huge $47,000
sale of UWW.org is the biggest one reported in this category
this year. 3-letter .org prices have been surging lately. In
fact four of the seven biggest sales on our latest Non.Com gTLD Top 20 Sales
Chart are 3-letter .orgs. In addition to the chart topper, #5 JSR.org
went fior $9,800 and two that tied for #6 - GFM.org
and NRV.org - went for $8,800 each, with Sedo logging
the latter three sales. Over the past few weeks we have also seen
NMF.org sell for $25,000, MUX.org for $12,999 and ZCK.org for $10,888,
to name a few others.
It was also a good week for
the new gTLDs as they took 11 of the 21 chart entries (the
extra spot resulted from a tie for the final position). They also
claimed three of the four biggest sales with #2 Burn.art going
for $12,500 and a pair that tied for #3 attracting $9,888
each. Those were Gets.co's
sale of DAO.finance and DNGear.com's
sale of Metaverse.xyz.

moved Course.club and Lips.club for $1,830 apiece.
