When
we were asked to give our domain market predictions for the
new year, I said I expected the strength we saw in 2025 to
continue as long as the general economy wasn't derailed by
an unexpected blow. Just two months into 2026, the war
with Iran broke out and, while it is too early to know what
all of the ramifications will be for business in general, it
is the kind of curve ball that could change the economic
calculus around the world. Having said that, the online
world, for obvious reasons, is a safer place to do business
that the real one, just as it was through the worst of the
world-shaking Covid epidemic.

|
|
The
two weeks since our last
bi-weekly domain sales report have been a little
quieter than usual (largely because several venues that report
monthly like NameJet, SnapNames and Dynadot, haven't put out
their reports yet) but there were still a number of
highlights, including one of the year
to date's top 10 sales and three of 2026's
top 10 sales in the non .com gTLD category (all
.orgs).
|
|
Sedo
led the hit parade with a solid $158,000 sale of NGBet.com
that landed at number 10 on our YTD Chart.
The .orgs, that just seem to get stronger with every
passing month, impressed again with GoDaddy's
$47,500 sale of #2 CampusPride.org. Sedo followed
with their second Top Five entry in #3 Emboai.com at $39,888. Nameshift
closed a $34,500 sale of ThuisAccu.nl
that showed .ai isn't the only game in ccTLD town and Sedo
underscored that point by moving #5 Mega.at (Austria's
ccTLD) at $30,000.
.ai
continues to fly high with James
Booth (DomainBooth.com)
opening a $74,456 Lease to Own deal for STT.ai
through Atom.com.
LTOs like this aren't eligible for the charts until final
payments have been made but they have become an increasingly
common structure for high end transactions.
In
the end the .coms claimed 11 spots on the leader board
with the non .coms landing 9. ccTLDs accounted for five
of the non .com entries with gTLDs contributing the other
four, thanks to a quartet of five-figure .org sales.
Here
is how the leaders lined up for the two weeks ending
Sunday, March 15, 2026:

Country
Codes
The ccTLDs were
led by a quintet of five-figure sales that all earned spots on
the all extension leader board above with Nameshift's $34,500
sale of Dutch domain ThuisAccu.nl setting the pace on our
latest Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. The term
literally translates to "home battery" - an energy
storage solution, especially for sources like solar.
In a major departure from the
norm, .ai did not have the most entries on the country code
honor roll. Germany's .de had three times as many, to win
that race 6-2. Sedo's $16,675 sale of #4
Reused.de got the ball rolling for that popular TLD. Readers who have been
around for awhile know that in the years before the .ai boom,
.de dominated the country code charts. .de has continued to
sell very well even though .ai has taken control of
the spotlight due entirely to an artificial intelligence
boom that is transforming the world as we know it.

Non .com gTLDs
While .AI has been the
big story in domain investing over the past couple of years,
rising aftermarket interest in .org has caught our eye as
well. In the first 15 or so years of domain investing .nets
had a clear edge over the .orgs in the resale market -
the thought being that the .orgs were mostly limited to the
non-profit world. However, that association helped make .org a highly
trusted, widely known TLD with a wider range of usage -
leading to it usually having more entries on our charts than
.nets. This week is a case in point with the .orgs sweeping
12 of the 20 entries on our latest Non. com gTLD Top 20
Sales Chart.
Those include the four
biggest sales and six of the top seven. The top three .orgs -
led by CampusPride.org at $47,500, also rank among
the year-to-date's top ten Non .com gTLD sales. For
a TLD that made its name in the non-profit world,
.org has turned out to be very profitable for investors who
focused on words and terms that complemented the "do
good" reputation of .org.
Here is how
the non .com gTLDs stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday,
