Trio of Six-Figure Domain Sales Including Year's 2nd Biggest Non .com gTLD Sale Top Latest Chart

As you would expect (especially if you are an American) overall domain sales volume (and business activity in general) slowed dramatically over the past two weeks. That was due to the July 4th holiday weekend in the U.S. being a very long one this year. July 4 fell on a Thursday and many began traveling even earlier in the week to reach their holiday destinations ahead of time. The vast majority didn't start making their way back home until Sunday (July 7), a day that the TSA said was the busiest ever for air travel!

Having said that, even though the number of sales transactions reported was slower than normal for a two-week period, there were some very solid ones in the bunch. A $250,000 sale of MadeInIran.com in a private transaction led the hit parade (I saw the Escrow.com documentation on this one and am also familiar with the seller). Sedo also made a big splash with two heavyweight sales, X.game at $160,000 (the second biggest publicly reported non .com gTLD sale of the year to date) and 69Bet.com at $140,000. Sedo wound up accounting for the majority of all sales reported this time out. Sedo has offices around the world but they are based in Germany and have a huge clientele there so the U.S. holiday week didn't slow them down a lot. Of course the bigger factor for Sedo is that they are very good at what they do which is why they've thrived in all kinds of conditions for over 20 years now.

Sedo's haul included the biggest ccTLD sale on the leader board, #4 Twin.ai at $95,000. They had five more country sales with three of those joining Twin.ai in the top ten. They also racked up ten .com sales including four on the top half of the elite list. One of those was a $22,500 sale of #9 Centralization.com that premium broker Mark Ghoriafi handled on behalf of the seller. Dennis Tinerino at DomainSmoke also contributed to the .com cause with a $12,500 sale of #17 EmailWarmup.com that he made with the help of a GoDaddy broker. Dennis told me he had acquired the domain in a GoDaddy auction just 28 days before making the sale to an end user.

The ccTLDs also turned in another very strong performance with seven charted sales including the six from Sedo plus WeBroker.vc's $15,000 sale of #14 Chemistry.vc
