Summer
Heat Has Arrived But Domain Sales Refuse to Wilt with Sizzling
Results in All Sectors
We
just passed the first day of summer and entered a
stretch where vacations typically contribute to a business
slow down. We have a long way to go before autumn arrives but
it would be hard to complain about the numbers posted over the
past two weeks in all categories - .coms, ccTLDs
and Non .com gTLDs. The .coms led the charge, as they
usually do, with Sedo's
$265,000 sale of IPL.com leading our latest all
extension Top 20 Sales Chart. That one also ranks among
the 10 largest publicly reported sales of the year
to date at #10.
Braden
Pollock at LegalBrandMarketing.com
also rang the six-figure bell by selling EVO.io for $105,000
in one of the 10 biggest ccTLD sales reported so far in 2024.
Braden went on to hit a rare trifecta this week,
putting a .com, a ccTLD and a non .com gTLD on the
all-extension Top 20 chart in a single outing. His .com
entry is #9 ReproductiveHealth.com at $35,075 and
his non .com gTLD flag bearer is #15 Kernel.net
at $20,000.
Several others
claimed multiple chart entries. At the top, Sedo put a second
name in the first five, as did Mike Mann's DomainMarket.com.
Sedo completed their double feature with #3 (tie) MyFy.com
at $75,000 while DomainMarket matched that figure with Bazaart.com,
then added $60,000 for #5 (tie) PositiveGroup.com
(Prophetic.com
also changed hands for $60,000 with a forward thinking
tech company setting up shop on that domain).
The .coms piled up
13 chart entries overall. The ccTLDs filled four slots
including a trio of Dutch .nl sales at Tappaya.com
that tied for #12 at $26,750 each. The non .com gTLDs
put three names on the elite list, led by the $40,000
sale of #7 Voice.art at Atom.com.
That was a a very nice upgrade for an established graphic arts
ecommerce company that had been operating from VoiceArt.link.
This category also got a boost from Nidoma.com's
$18,725 sale of #18 Evolution.cloud.

cash only sales that have been reported to us in the

Country
Codes
The ccTLDs also
continue to fire on all cylinders, racking up another six-figure sale
with EVO.io at $105,000 and nine more that reached five
figures. The latter group included three .nl sales that tied
for #2 on our latest Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart - Skireis.nl,
Sikreizen.nl and WinterSporten.nl - at $26,740 each.
Those were sold through Tappaya.com,
a new brand from BusinessForSale.eu
(whom you've seen on our charts in the past) meant to give their
domain assets a home of their own to run alongside their well
established M&A and eCommerce business sales enterprises.
Since all five-figure and
higher sales are included in the first part of our reports the biggest
sales from the ccTLD group that you haven't seen yet are a trio from Sedo
- #11 8080.io at, appropriately enough, $8,080, #12 CGGroup.de
at $8,020 and #13 ACP.us at $7,500. Sedo
went on to sweep 15 of the 20 sales overall - consistent with their
long time dominance of the country code space.

Non .com gTLDs
The Non .com gTLDs
were led by that quintet of five-figure sales you saw in the all
extension section above with Voice.art at the head of the class
with a $40,000 sale at Atom.com
(formerly SquadHelp). Two other .art domains also earned spots on our latest Non .Com Top Sales
Chart with #5 (tie) Virtual.art going for $10,000
and #11 Canvas.art for $5,000 with both selling
through Get.art.
When the smoke had settled
the TLD race had come down to a tight finish between the two legacy
extensions in this category, .org and .net, with the
.orgs eking out a 7-6 win. That came thanks to a large group of sales
at GoDaddy Auctions that included #8 28.org at $5,349
and #9 62.org at $5,049.
