Sedo's top contenders were drafting tighter than a NASCAR
team as they zipped across the line is positions 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Three of those four entries were country code domains, helping ccTLD's
continue to rise in the domain world's hierarchy. #2 Pauschalreise.de
("package tour" in German) went for 19,500
($25,117) while #4 Spiel.de ("game" in
German) netted 14,000 ($18,032) and #5
Rock.co.uk rolled up 9,000 ($16,950). Sedo slipped #3 AdEurope.com
into the middle of their lead pack, with that domain going for
15,000 ($19,321).
Then it was time for SnapNames to flex their muscles again. They
rang up 5 of the last 6 chart entries to place an exclamation mark
on a very impressive week for the Portland, Oregon
powerhouse. Their hot streak down the stretch included #6 IAD.com
at $13,010 and #7 Lesionado.com ("wounded"
in Spanish) at $10,250. There were nine 5-figure domains on
this week's Big Board and dozens of solid sales in the mid
four-figure range, including several at that level on our New TLD
chart.
We'll run down all of the action for you, but first let's take a

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the past week.
This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a
complete list documenting ALL high value domain
sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many
sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers
or both. |
SnapNames and Sedo shared the #8 position with the
final two 5-figure sales on this week's list, eNote.com
and DonsWorld.com which went for $10,000 each. SnapNames
then anchored the chart with a pair of $7,500 travel domains; SwitzerlandVacation.com
and DiscountAirlineTicket.com. Those half dozen chart entries
were just the start of the SnapNames story this week. Their sales
sheet also included DiscountWarehouse.com at $6,800, SelfPortrait.com
at $6,534 and Waterfall.com at $5,831. NudeCelebrityPictures.com
flashed another $5,655, while SacredGeometry.com kicked
in $5,600 and Launch.org landed $5,100.
The other winners at SnapNames included Microbes.com
at $4,899, GuitarPedals.com at $4,850 and Snoop.net
at $3,600. They also flew F16.com to a $2,350 payday
and heard $2,000 worth of good news from BroadbandVoice.com.
Sedo also had a huge roster of high dollar sales, many
of them in a sector they dominate, country code extensions. GlacierExpress.de
iced 5,800 ($7,470), Telefonpassning.se
("telephone operator" in Swedish) rang up 4,000
($5,153) and Madame.cz gave the Czech Republic ccTLD
a rare four-figure sale at 3,000 ($3,863). Sedo scored with
a couple of Indian domains as well. MobilePhones.in dialed up 1,500
($1,932) and OnlineBanking.in deposited 1,000
($1,288). They picked up another 1,000 ($1,288) for
CityBank.be (Belgium's country code) and even completed a
rare .name sale, collecting 700 ($901) for Posters.name!
Sedo also cranked up the .com sales machine,
collecting 5,000 ($6,444) for the typo Hotlmail.com
(182 with the extension in Overture)
and 4,500 ($5,796) for VoyanceGratuite.com. 8P.com
added another $5,556 while MEJ.com and Cusino.com
each contributed $5,000. Another 3-letter domain, FZB.com
added $2,500 and a pair of IDN .coms also changed hands;
Clarn.com at $2,300 and Diseo.com at 600
($773). A nice 2-character .org polished off the banquet with FT.org
attracting 2,000 ($2,576). You'll be hearing more from Sedo
in our New TLD section where they ran rampant again, rolling up 8 of
this week's 9 chart entries.
A .net led the hit parade at Pool.com
where Prom.net was the belle of the ball, ringing up $6,261.
Lavallife.com brought $5,221, Merchandiser.com
booked $5,109 and PaidInternships.com added $4,125.
Someone went on an insurance domain buying binge as well, piling up LosAngelesAutoInsurance.com
($4,050), SanDiegoAutoInsurance.com ($3,800), SanDiegoCarInsurance.com
($3,700), SanFranciscoAutoInsurance.com ($2,050), SacramentoCarInsurance.com
($2,050), PhoenixAutoInsurance.com ($1,550) and PhoenixCarInsurance.com
($1,505).
Also making a splash at Pool were HorseRacingForms.com
at $3,587, UltimateVacation.com at $3,300 and OneBody.com
at $3,250. ColoradoRockyMountains.com hit a $2,800
peak, BilliardsClub.com pocketed $2,055 and CheapLeather.com

Deckmasters.com commanded $1,650, BuyMedical.com and
SilverBlue.com each contributed $1,600 and BloodSubstitute.com
added $1,553. In other extensions, Jerk.net yanked $1,550
and GTP.net brought $1,410. Canada-based Pool continues
to move .ca's as well. EmpireTheaters.ca went for $415
and YamahaMotors.ca rode off with $360.
At Afternic.com,
$5,000 flowed from InStream.com, 3DScience.com
discovered $4,637 and VOIPSoftware.com contributed $3,888.
HotEscorts.com went home with $3,488, Comeback.org
returned $2,888 and ABCWatch.com ticked off $2,300.
UFIA.com added another $2,250, ContractorUSA.com
brought in $2,190 and EcoStore.com banked an even $2,000.
KWR.com was the top catch at Enom's Club
Drop, going for $3,700. MP3Books.com brought
in $1,600, DentalFreePlan.com extracted $1,500 and
a typo domain, CapitolOneMortgage.com (69 with the extension in
Overture) went for the same price. Ken Cunliffe of TopNames.com
went shopping at BuyDomains.com
and came home with SunZone.com ($5,600), SkateZone.com
($3,300) and JokeWorld.com ($2,000).
In private transactions, Stuart Wood acquired Classification.com
for $3,500, Ira Zoot of DigitalEstates.com
sold RNNR.com for $3,000 and Brinkle.com
sold FreeSpecialReport.com for $2,000.
In the Pipeline:
An auction for Bird.com ended at Afternic.com for a whopping $200,000
and early indications are that it is a legitimate bid. If it goes
through it will be one of the top three reported sales of 2005.

New TLD Section
After a strong week last week, the new
extensions stepped it up still another notch with the number of
4-figure sales rising from five last week to six this time out. .Info
was the leading extension with 6 of the 9 chart entries (a tie for 8th
accounted for the extra position). Sedo practically owned the chart,
accounting for 8 of the 9 sales, including #1 Adventure.info at
2,500 ($4,708).
Pauschalreisen.info and Pauschalreise.info (the
plural and singular versions of the German term for "package
tour") finished 2nd and 3rd respectively at 3,500 ($4,507) and
2,800 ($3,606). Still another .info, the hyphenated New-York.info
was next at $3,500. .Biz then made it's first appearance
with Cheerleading.biz going for $1,605 at Pool (preventing
Sedo from making a clean sweep of the chart).
All three of the new TLD's notched four-figure sales. .US
did it with #6 WebCams.us at an even $1,000. Here's a look at the complete
new extension leader's list for the week

As always, we welcome all verifiable sales reports from companies,
private sellers or individuals with knowledge of an important sale
made through any channel. To contribute information and help make
this column better, just drop a note to [email protected].
We truly appreciate the industry leading
companies represented on our charts who share their sales information
with us to help everyone in the business get a handle on current
domain values. Individuals like Richard
Meyer of the American Marketing Corporation also provide invaluable help by sending us data for these sales
reports each week.
Every Tuesday we publish the highest reported domain name
sales for the previous week. On Monday our contributors send us
their sales data for the previous 7 days. We then compile that
information and write this report for Tuesday publication to give
you the freshest sales report in the industry.
We will close with this standard caution. These are not average selling
prices - these are top selling domains. One of the
biggest impediments to making sales is pricing domains at
unrealistic levels. For most of us, pricing domains at the levels
achieved on the Top Ten chart will leave us waiting a long time to make a sale! We hope you will
use the information presented here as a measuring stick that will
help you price your domains at levels that will put more money in
your pocket more often!
Editor's Note: If you wish to review previous Domain
Sales columns, they are available in our Archive.
