It looks like the crews at Sedo.com
and SnapNames.com
were especially good little boys and girls this year, as each
company found nine Big Board entries under their tree. Sedo's haul
included the #1 domain, a very nice 3-letter .com, ASB.com at
$50,000. Sedo also placed two German .de's and a double
hyphenated .com in the first ten. #4 Hausarzt.de
("family doctor" in German) went for 23,200
($27,446) and #8 AutoAuto.de delivered 11,600
($13,723). The real shocker was #6 True-To-You.com at 10,000
($17,272), an exceptionally high price for a domain with two hyphens
(or even one for that matter). The WhoIs information is privacy
protected, but the domain appears to have been purchased by a
motivated buyer, the owners of a popular Morrissey ezine and
fan site at True-To-You.net.
The .com now redirects to that .net.
SnapNames racked up six of the first ten entries and all but one
of their nine listings on the expanded leader board were .coms. #2 TravelPlans.com
led the SnapNames assault at $35,472 with #3 AutoShippers.com
next in line at $28,251. #5 CocktailDress.com zipped
up another $17,750 and #10 CanadianGirls.com attracted
$12,750.
Afternic.com
and Enom's Club
Drop were the only other venues to earn a spot on our
new chart. Afternic did it with #7 QTrip.com at $15,000 while
Club Drop scored with #8 MattressPad.com at $14,100.
Overall, .com took 13 entries, followed by .de with four, .net with
two and .co.uk with one. Here is a look at the complete leader board
for the week ending Christmas Day, December 25:

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both.
|
Sedo and SnapNames each had five entries in the second
ten. The SnapNames roster included the top .net, NewCars.net at
$10,288. Sedo swept the last four positions on the list and all
of those were non .coms including #17 FunnyMovies.net ($9,500)
and three country code domains which are always a source of strength
at Sedo. Their other sales included still another ccTLD, Franchising.de
at 3,625 ($4,289) and a mid five-figure .us sale that
tops our new extension chart (more on that later). Sedo's .com sales
included Snob.com at $5,880, Afrosoft.com at $4,100,
Antiq.com at $4,000 and SBF.com at $3,800.
They also banked 4,000 ($4,733) for a hyphenated .net, e-Gold.net.
Back at SnapNames, Tempura.com stirred up $7,100,
eConsumer.com contributed $6,500 and InternationalFreight.com
weighed in at $6,400. Another long one, NightVisionCamera.com,
caught $6,200 and a sweet 3-letter .net, LTD.net, went
for $6,100. Descriptions.com also commanded $6,100,
BowlingBag.com booked $6,000 and VehicleGraphics.com
drew $5,100.
SnapNames also had the week's best .org sale, M1.org
at $4,877. Their other winners included WebDesignClasses.com
($4,770), CarWheel.com ($4,500) and ThreeSisters.com
($4,311). AnimalArtGallery.com and SandwichShops.com
gobbled up $4,300 each and AllSeasonTires.com rolled up
another $4,200. SnapNames had another three dozen sales ranging
between $2,000-$3,800. Here's a look at that

The $5,500 sale of a three-word .US
domain leads the new extension sales parade this week. BuyAndSell.us
attracted that sizeable sum at Sedo.com. .Info took the next
three positions, all four-figure sales, with #2 Manhattan.info
leading the way at $4,500. That sale at DNForum.com
was actually completed four weeks ago but the seller wasn't able
to get the information to us until this past week (still within the
30-day window we allow to include sales on our weekly report rather
than send them directly to the Year to Date list).
Also scoring for .info were #3 Uniforms.info
at $3,250 and BottomLine.info at $1,499.
Uniforms.info helped Sedo button up four of the six sales reported to
us this week. BottomLine.info changed hands as TheNameStore.com.
.Biz also earned a spot with #5 Alpha.biz booking 670
($793) at Sedo. We trimmed two positions from the new chart since
the six sales below were the only ones reported during this holiday
week.

As always, we welcome all verifiable sales reports from companies,
private sellers or individuals with knowledge of an important sale
made through any channel. To contribute information and help make
this column better, just drop a note to [email protected].
We truly appreciate the industry leading
companies represented on our charts who share their sales information
with us to help everyone in the business get a handle on current
domain values. Individuals like Richard
Meyer of the American Marketing Corporation also provide invaluable help by sending us data for these sales
reports each week.
Every Tuesday we publish the highest reported domain name
sales for the previous week. On Monday our contributors send us
their sales data for the previous 7 days. We then compile that
information and write this report for Tuesday publication to give
you the freshest sales report in the industry.
We will close with this standard caution. These are not average selling
prices - these are top selling domains. One of the
biggest impediments to making sales is pricing domains at
unrealistic levels. For most of us, pricing domains at the levels
achieved on the Top Ten chart will leave us waiting a long time to make a sale! We hope you will
use the information presented here as a measuring stick that will
help you price your domains at levels that will put more money in
your pocket more often!

Sales columns, they are available in our Archive.
