A 3-Letter .Com and the Year's Biggest ccTLD Sale to Date Top This Week's Domain Sales Chart

Seeing a 3-letter .com at the top of our weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart has become a common occurrence, the latest example being this week's biggest sale, GPO.com at $50,000 in a deal that was handled by Joe Uddeme at NameExperts.com. Another domain from this perennially popular category reached the top ten. That was Sedo's $19,000 sale of NIQ.com

The week's other headliner was Sedo's €35,000 ($39,900) sale of Mobility de. That sale, made by veteran broker Frank Tillmanns, is the biggest country code sale reported so far in 2019. Sedo put another ccTLD in the top ten and it was also a German .de domain - #8 BF.de at €15,000 ($17,100).

Sedo also played a big role in helping the .coms sweep 14 of the 20 chart entries. They sold #3 Vivlio.com for $25,000 and #4 Mandom.com for $22,800. Sedo went on to pile up 12 charted sales overall.

By Ron Jackson

Michael Mann's DomainMarket held the next highest number of positions, filling four spots (all .coms) including three that reached the top ten. Those were #5 SoftwareBuilders.com at $20,000, #6 SaasDirect.com at $19,888 and #9 (tie) NotYourMothers.com at $15,000. Mann said he bought the latter name last November for a grand total of $18, giving him a phenomenal return on his short term investment for that name.

While .coms enjoyed their usual dominance, the ccTLDs were able to claim four spots on the Big Board with TP Media Group putting a pair of .tv domains on the leader board (joining the two .de sales at Sedo we told you about above). Those are #17 Wakeup.tv at $10,000 and #19 Voice.tv at $8,600.

The non .com gTLDs also took a bow, thanks to a pair of new gTLD sales. Sedo moved #15 Ostsee.travel for $10,830 while the .GLOBAL Registry sold #16 Pay.global for $10,500 in a deal brokered by Mark Ghoriafi

Country Codes

The ccTLDs were led by that quartet of sales you saw on the all extension leader board above with Sedo's $39,900 sale of Mobility.de setting the pace and also establishing a new high water mark for 2019 country code sales. The biggest sale in this group that you haven't seen yet is #5 on our latest weekly Country Code Top Sales Chart. That is Sedo's $7,752 sale of Rundflug.de.

Sedo went on to sweep 15 of the 19 ccTLD sales reported this week. The few exceptions included DomainLore.co.uk's $3,696 sale of #11 Revive.co.uk and a $1,988 sale of Flexible.us in a private transaction.

Germany's .de scored another easy win by piling up seven chart entries. No other TLD had more than two. Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the week ending Sunday, March 17, 2019:
