Spend.com Spawns Six-Figure Sale for Sedo and ccTLDS Have Another Big Week to Celebrate

I was away last week spending the Thanksgiving holidays with family so I have a double dose of domain sales data for you this week. In addition to the always dominant .coms, the big winners over the past fortnight wound up being Sedo and the ccTLDs. Sedo rang up the biggest sale after Senior Broker Dave Evanson closed a $275,000 deal for Spend.com. In addition to heading our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart that transaction also ranks among the 20 biggest sales reported so far this year

Sedo went on to sweep five of the top six sales and 19 of 23 chart entries overall (the extra positions resulted from a four-way tie for the final spot). Their haul included #2 Sanda.com at $75,000 and #4 EconomyBooking.com at $30,000. Sandwiched in between those two was MAJ.com's $40,000 sale of #3 Krispy.com.

Those sales helped the .coms claim 11 chart entries but the ccTLDs were right on their heels with 10 places on the Big Board of their own. Sedo had the biggest of those, banking $25,490 for Stromfreunde.de. DNProperty.com put two more ccTLDs on the top half of the elite list, moving Indian domains Tire.co.in and Tyre.co.in for $20,000 each. Sedo booked all of the other country code sales except for #12 (tie) Israel.tv that went for $15,000 in a private transaction.

By Ron Jackson

The deluge of ccTLD sales comes immediately after another great outing for the category that we told you about in our last report when the country codes had the week's biggest sale, two of the top three and took six places overall.

The non .com gTLDs were limited to two spots this time out - both filled by Sedo - #12 (tie) GDPR.org at $15,000 and a new gTLD sale at #20 (tie) - Container.cloud at $11,900.

Here is how the sales leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, November 26, 2017:

Keep in mind that these are the highest value cash only sales that have been reported to us in the past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
